I plan on continuing the quick play and blitz games on Monday nights, but I would like to provide the opportunity for more rated games also.
If you would like to play more rated games, here are some ideas:
1. Monday Night Quads: Get together four players of similar rating together then you can play quads. A suggestion would be G30. With an hour per match, the quad would last three hours. I would recommend forming a quad before showing up. Cost: $3.00 per quad (6 games at $1.00 dollar a game).
2. Other Suggestions for Monday Night: Get together with another rated member and play either two Game 45 or Game 90. You can also use a delay setting, but in that case I recommend 40 with 5 sec delay or Game 85 with 5 sec. delay. Cost: $3.00 dollars (with a limit of 6 games). NOTE: I rate the games online and there is a minimum charge of $3.00 dollars to submit the rating.
3. Too Busy for Monday: We might be able to arrange rated Quads at Borders in Henderson on a Saturday. Just get the players and let's limit the rated games to no longer than 3 hours.
4. Would you like to Organize a Tournament?: Schedule the place and work out the details. If my "extremely busy" schedule permits, then I'll be the TD.
5. Chess League: I'm in the initial stages of planning for a chess league. To get started I need 4-6 Team Captains. The Team Captains will act as de facto President of the league and will share most of the responsibility. I hope to serve in as Secretary in an organizer/administrative role. Two additional positions we need are Treasurer and Webmaster. I might have a volunteer for webmaster.
A few things I ask from you:
1. Show up around 7:00 pm and try to finish no later than 10:30 pm
2. Find a partner(s) to play with
3. Payment to submit your games for rating. Remember I have to charge more than on Thursday night because the larger crowd on Thursday drops the price as their is a $3.00 minimum fee to submit online ratings.
4. Donations are appreciatied. Any donation will go towards club supplies to include scoresheets, new clocke, etc.
