New, Clever Ways to Fight Crime

I think we can all agree that crime is becoming a problem in our country.  It seems the criminals are always one step ahead of us.  Lately, I've observed some very clever ways to confuse the criminals.

For example, my apartment complex has taken crime fighting to the next level.  They have decided to leave the security gates open with a sign posted on the gate that reads "How to earn $1000.00 dollars.  This may appear strange to the average person but it's actually a very very clever ruse.  For any criminal who has a brain this looks like a trap.  Why would a criminal step into an open trap.  Of course there is a possibility a criminal might catch on to this so my apartment has decided to alternate the opening and closing of the gates.  For example, one gate is open one day and closed the next.  Although these two gates are only feet apart I'm sure it creates massive confusion for the criminal.  Anyway, criminals like the challenge of breaking in places not just walking it.  It takes all the fun out of it.  Even criminals have standards and a code of honor they follow.

Then there's my neighbor.  I assume he must be part of this elaborate scheme.  He has a car that has never moved since I've been here and I doubt he could get $20.00 dollars for it.  For that matter, nobody would take his car for free.  However, he has a security system in that car that rivals anything I witnessed during my years in the military.  It's sophistification surpasses anything I've seen even on the most modern U.S. fighter aircraft.  It has blue flashing lights and obviously it must have a superb self-protection system on it that when threatened would destroy anything in sight including tanks and aircraft.  This alarm system is clearly worth hundreds of times what the car is worth.  Once again the criminal mind thinks this must be a bait car.  I have my doubts though, I think the guy is actually trying to encourage people to steal it.  That way he can tell his lady friends at the bar about his "expensive" car being stolen.  The other night I looked over and I observed his keys in the ignition with the window open.  I thought, "Man, either we must live in a good neighbood or this guy is working for the cops!"  I ruled out the good neighbood.

As you can see my apartment has layers upon layers of security.  Here's another layer of security the crooks have to deal with.  Well, the Las Vegas sightseeing helicopter hovers over the complex every night with it's searchlight hitting the ground.  I believe it's just tourists.  Hey, there's a lot to see in Vegas at night especially here on the east side!  To the average criminal it looks like a police helicopter.  Once again we're taking a "bite" out of crime, while at the same time helping the tourism industry.

We also have young black men who are training for the Olympics.  I constantly seeing these hard-working young men jumping over the fences while the cops are in pursuit.  I have to say to the cops, "Hey, leave these young men alone while they are in pursuit of the American dream.  Look, leave the brothers alone and don't be a hater just because they are black.

If your neighborhood has a problem with crime then just come over.  I'm sure my management would be glad to assist!  To fight crime all you have to do is use your head and "think" a little.

Be safe or should I say instead, "Appear to be safe!"

Take care

Paul
