Game of Energy

On June 11, 2009, I went to the Clark County Chess Club to play my weekly game of tournament chess. I was learning a little about brain waves and brain entrainment so I went to Borders Bookstore and picked up a copy of the Creative Mind System--a brain entrainment CD that is supposed to put the mind in a creative state. I decided to give it a try and to play this music during my game of chess.

Much to my surprise, I was placed against one of the top players in the club, Virgil Reyes who is over 2000 rating points. At the time I was rated in the low 1600s which means basically I didn't have much chance at winning.

As I began to play, I turned on the music. Then something strange happened. This energy began pouring throughout my body. It seemed almost like a religious experience to me. I looked over a Virgil and it seemed he could feel my energy and his posture looked like it was slumping a little. I felt supreme power and confidence. I thought, "With this energy, if this game goes long I'll wear him down and win." Thoughts also entered my mind like, "Geez, this is all in your imagination."

Virgil blundered and I finished one of the most tactical club players with tactics. He resigned.

Shortly after the game, John Trivett (club TD), walked over to me and said, "I'm sensitive to these things. I could feel this energy pouring out of your body." I knew then what I felt was real.

A strange experience indeed.

I weighed about 213 pounds and for days afterwards I felt energized. I noticed that I began to lose a pound or two pounds a day. Eventually I lost 26 pounds and I'm at 187. Is the weight loss connected to my experience? I can't prove it, but in my heart I believe it is connected.

So, should we go seeking strange experiences? I think not. They come whether we ask or not. Sometimes, we just have to get the right mental attitude for the universe to open up to us. Only then can this universal energy begin to heal us.
