I played this correspondence game against an Indonesian player.
My approach was cautious even though I played the Sicilian Defence. As often happens, Black gets a solid position in the Sicilian but is lagging a little behind in development. If Black survives the middlegame he has pretty good chances in the endgame.
My intermediate move 26...g6 was what I believed won the game. It allowed me to get rid of my back rank problem, enabling my rook to attack his weak pawns on the c-file. Its often very difficult for your opponent to see these in-between moves, making them a great surprise weapon.
My play certainly could have been improved upon, but every now and then I like to win in "grinding" style. Here's the game:
cheers
