Chess Revenge Match

In 2003 or 2004 I played in a Saturday chess tournament here in Las Vegas. For some reason I do terrible in tournament play probably due to the reason that I focus on expectation rather than performance. During the tournament I played White against Walter Churchill. My play was very poor--not taking anything away from him. He crushed me in a Sicilian Defence.

Last night was my chance to pay him back in an unrated game. I played 1. e4 and Walter responded with the Najdorf Sicilian. Its been a year or longer that I seriously studied any opening so I'm terribly rusty. I immediately rattled out the terrible move 10. f3??. Lucky for me, he eventually blundered and I had the better position and just grinded him down to a loss. Following the game, Walter keep going through "What if scenarios". Every move he took back and we played from ended in me mating him. Nothing special though, that's the likely the result when you are down in material in a bad position. It reminded me of the Germans. The Germans, after being defeated, would go back and show you how they "really won" the game.

Here's the game. It's not perfect, but it was fun for me!

NOTE: I made a mistake on the diagram below. I was actually White.
